Weekend with B.Tech friends

The last weekend was memorable one for me. My B.Tech classmate Sheshank came to my home(in bangalore) on saturday. I met him after 2 years. I felt very happy and exited after I met him.

I took him to PHILIPS and shown my cabin and some part of our office. He liked it very much.

We went home and started watching a comedy movie.

On sunday, I called srinivas (my b.tech friend). We planned for a movie in marthahalli. Me and sheshank went there and enjoyed the movie. Then we had dinner in marthahalli.

This is a memorable weekend for me. :-)

Halloween in Philips

Halloween is started in philips. Its not a very big celebration. They put up some pumpkins around the campus.

Run Again.... Funathon 2

Funathon - 1 became great success. Philips organized another marathon on september 28th.

This time the track size was 3km. Nearly 200 ppl participated in the marathon.

It was great fun!!!!

Farewell to bala

Balakrishnan Sivasankaran is our ultrasound manager. He is moving to some services company. So, we arranged a farewell party in our cafeteria.

Philips organized a healthy run event on 14th september 2007. It named as FUNATHON. The event got good response. Nearly 160 people participated in that. The track size is 1.5km.

On the same day, a new club " Philips Photographers Club " has been inaugurated. They captured the thrill of the action - packed marathon.

With the good response, philips organized second run event on 28th september. This time, the track size is 3km.

Awesome session in PIC

There was a tech talk in our company "Barriers to innovation and methods of overcoming them" by Dr Gururaj Karajagi. It was awesome. The way he started and the way he expressed his views, delivering the thoughts was simply superb.



He is an excellent person with ultimate knowledge. He shared many of his experiences with us.

He explained what is innovation. What are the basic roots of innovation. The way he delivered was awesome.

He started with his past experience. It was drawing a triangle with two lines. The way he started the explanation and the way he ended was excellent.

One thing I liked in the session was "When u r climbing everest, u will see a peak and u set that as ur goal. But, when u reach that peak, u will see another peak, and u try to reach that. There is no limit on the goals. stretch your goals."

Docs, Docs and Docs

We got 15 documents to read. Those all are explains the organization and our work.

I felt happy that i got some stuff to read. But, 15 docs.... too much it is.

I started reading. I completed 2 docs today.

Still 13 docs are pending to read .... :-(

Maggi..... Yummy

We felt boring to eat outside on tuesday night. So we planned to cook maggi.

I thought of making it very tasty by including tomatos, potatos, onions etc. Sankar came into kitchen and told he want to learn how to cook maggi.

We prepared all ingredients. Chopped tomatos and onions. I told shankar how to prepare maggi. He followed my instructions to prepare it.

It took nearly 30 minutes to prepare 2-minutes maggi, But it was very tasty.

We ate it in 2 minutes ....... :-)

Annayya at Bangalore

My cousin krishna kanth came to bangalore on saturday.

We met each other nearly after 1 year. I felt very happy to see him in bangalore.

I showed my office to him. My brother praised philips architecture and design of the building. We spent nearly 4 hours in philips. I taught him foosball for some time.

We went to ISKCON temple in the evening. The temple design is very good. We were in ISKCON temple till evening.

Gogear for nagaraju and datha

I bought Gogear for nagaraju and gurudatha.

It is equivalent to ipod of apple. Gogear is having video display feature with 2.2 inches screen.

Gurudatha felt very happy with Gogear that I bought for him.

Case Study - 2 Completed Successfully

Our case study -2 is completed successfully with todays presentation.

With this we completed our training in Philips.


We worked a lot for this case study as this one is a bit complex compared to the last case study. Any way we enjoyed working on it.

I got into Ultra Sound division in Philips Medical Systems. Most of my work will be in C++.
People are seems to be cool and enjoying the work.

Sankatahara Chaturdashi

Today sankatahara chaturdashi.

My mom told me to do abhishekam for ganapathi.

Yesterday i inquired my friends and my house owner about the ganapathi temple. My house owner told me that ganpathi temple is very near to our home.

I woke up in the morning 6'o clock (this is the first time that i woke up early in bangalore). I took bath and went to the temple at 6:30.

Poojari came at 6:45 Am. I told him that I want to perform an abhishekam. He told me that he will arrange all the necessary items for abhishekam.

The temple is under construction, vinayaka vigraham is very good. With in 15 minutes poojari arranged all items. He took my family details and gotras to start abhishekam.

He did abhishekam with milk, ghee, chandan, oil, sugar, flowers etc. It was really pleasant time and the temple environment added some more pleasantness. Abhishekam completed at 8:00 Am. I took prasadam and came back home.

I distributed prasadam to my roommates and house owner.

Weekend Shopping.....

I enjoyed this weekend completely with shopping.

I went to ranjith room, which is in banaganahalli. Ranjith is working in synopsis, he is my M.Tech batch mate.

Saturday morning we went to forum, gurudatha came there.

We bought a shirt in pepe jeans outlet.

We went to central and bought 2 dresses for gurudatha. I too bought a jeans in Shoppers Stop.

I bought a pair of shoes in marthahalli.


2 days completely invested in shopping.

C# session suspended for one day and its trilok birthday tooo

Today, our trainer is absent, so our session suspended. (The trainer had food poisoning last night & was hospitalized.)

today, our colleague trilok birthday. So, we asked him for a party and gave birthday bumps. Trilok took all of us (14 ppl) to a chinese restaurant for lunch. We ordered many items, food is very good. We enjoyed every bit of it.

While we were going for lunch, we got a call from our training in-charge saying that they arranged an internal trainer for a session. But luckily we did not had any session.

I got my salary check today. I felt very exited after receiving the first salary check.

We got a foosball today. trilok, vijay, rajagopal and me enjoyed a lot while playing it. Its really an interesting game. We played for 2 hours.

Presentation on Case Study - 1

A presentation was scheduled on the case study done by us. Anuj created a presentation and we edited it and make final modifications. We divided the presentation and prepared accordingly.

Our CEO came to the presentations. The first presentation was given by sankar's team. Our CEO left the seminar hall as soon as the first team completed their presentation. Our's was second batch. We completed our presentation successfully. The session was completed by 1'o clock.

Every one presented their best and all of our designs were good with slight difference.

Presentation Skills Session

We had a session on presentation skills for two days. Instructor name is Bhavna.

Bhavna started her PPT. Explained the importance of communication and presentation skills. It was the best session I enjoyed in Philips till that day.

She told that each one of us has to give a presentation. She told that they will record it with camera and show it back to us. We thought we are dead.

Initial presentation was a group presentation. Utpal, me, trilok were in the group. We made a presentation. It was fun.

After all the presentation are completed, we had indivisual presentations. The topic was given to us and we have to present it in different way. We successfully completed the presentations.

The video was re winded and all are started watching the video. We came to know all our mistakes in the presentations.

On saturday we had the same session continued. We enjoyed coming to office though it weekend. We enjoyed the session and special thanks to Bhavna for that great session.

Case Study -1

All of the fresh joinees  were divided into teams. Me, anuj, vinoth were in our team.

As we completed our C++ training, we got a case study to work. I was in the college for two days. My team members managed 2 days with out me. They started design for the case study. I joined with them on wednesday. We completed our design and got approved with our reviewer.

We divided the case study into modules and started coding. It was fun working with my team.

We had 2 weeks time for completing the case study and we finished it on time.

Day in philips with kranthi

Kranthi and me came to bangalore on wednesday morning. We both went to our room. Kranthi felt so happy about our home. We got freshed up and came to office. We had good time in office. I showed him all the places (that i know) in office. He enjoyed it.

Kranthi went to ISKON temple and I stayed back in the office.

My Final Presentation

My presentation was the first one in our batch.

I prepared well for the presentation. I had couple of mock presentations in front of my friends.

My presentation started at 9:30. Examiners came from NIT Surathkal. Our presentations were divided into three batches. My presentation was first one in my batch. Vinod sir and Pushparaj Shetty(NIT suratkal) were on the examination panel. I completed my presentation by 10:00.

We arranged lunch for our faculty in the guest house. We invited all the staff to lunch. We had a good time with our professors. Every one enjoyed the food.

We came back to hostel and started watching movie. In the evening kranthi and me started to bangalore. Gurudatha had some work in the college and Bhanu planned for a trip in kerala with some other friends, so they were in the college on tuesday.

It was a nice enjoyment that we were back to college once again.

Back to NITC

I am back to NITC for my final presentation of my project.

Gurudatha came to my hotel and we both started on saturday (8th july) evening to calicut.
We reached calicut on sunday early morning. As we stepped out of the bus, it started raining (as the place is saying welcome back). I felt that I entered into kerala.

College Main building is changed a lot. The flooring in the main building is replaced with Granite flooring. It gave a new look to the building.

We (me and guru) entered into our G-Hostel. I remembered "Gurtukostunnai" song. That song was perfect match for the situation.

We entered into Nagaraju room. We shouted for some time, greeted every one. In order to get back to the college mood, nagaraju started a movie. After the movie got over, we started watching another movie. We felt like we are back to college.

In the night we went to Mezban hotel. Mezban is one of the best hotels in calicut. We enjoyed calicut food once again.

On monday morning Bhanu came to calicut and joined with us. We enjoyed his presence there. We met all of our juniors. Appreciated the people who got jobs and encouraged people who are trying for the next companies.

I met Vinod Pathari sir (my project guide) in the afternoon. I felt very happy after meeting him once again.

Evening kranthi joined with us. It was great to see all of our classmates there. We enjoyed that day.

Our presentations are scheduled on tuesday(10th july). Kranthi and mine was first presentations in different venues. I started preparing for the presentation......

C++ Training

Our C++ training started on 2nd July. The trainer name is ALI.
Before starting C++ I thought what is there in the C++ to know. I can enjoy the session becoz i know much of them. But really it was awesome sessions. ALI explained each and every concept very well. He dived into the topics and cleared all our doubts with very convincing answers. We were very glad to have those sessions.
The training on C++ was completed on 7th July.

Philips.... Its really good

It had been a long time I was updated my blog.

I Joined Philips on 25th June 2007.
Receiving is good in philips. Company is very well designed.

We had Introduction sessions and some sessions about the company. We enjoyed the first day in office.

Alappy, really gods own place in kerala

We reached alappy (a.k.a allappuzha) at 3:00pm. My friend rakesh arranged a boat trip for us. I met a person sumesh(rakesh's friend) for the boat ride. He helped alot for the boat trip.



He arranged a small boat for us. Rakesh's father also came there to see whether everything is fine or not. I felt very happy with the hospitality and recieving.



The boats will return at 6:30pm because of the fishermans will start fishing. So we took a boat for 3 hours.



The locations in alappy were excellent. That place is called backwaters. An excellent place in kerala. The place is like small islands(contains a home or two) connected with a small walkable way.



I wondered that kerala government provided electricity, cable TV, telephone connections to all the homes in backwaters. I saw some schools, temples and hospitals in between the houses. Its really amazing.



We enjoyed boating till 6:30. We went to beach. The beach is too good. As we never got a chance to enjoy in the beach(becoz, there is no sea near to my home town), we enjoyed it a lot. Beach maintainance is too good. The water in the beach also clean. We spent 2 hours in the beach.



Then we came back to city, had dinner and started to trivendrum.



Alappy to trivendrum is 4 hours journey. There are many buses but because of the summer season all the buses were full. We got a bus at 12:00 and started to trivendrum.

One day in guruvayoor

I went to guruvayoor with my parents from our campus. It takes 4 hours journey from calicut. We reached there at 6:30 pm.



We took a lodge to get freshed and went to temple at 7:30. Many pilgrims rushed into the temple becoz of summer holidays. The line was very big and a police man said that darshanam is almost impossible that day night. So we returned to our room to take dinner. After the dinner, we went to temple again to see some dance programs in the auditorium connected to temple. We enjoyed it.



There is a pooja in guruvayoor temple with elephants. They will light all the oil lamps in the temple (around 5000 oil lamps are there). One elephant will hold the gods idol and two more elephants will follow the elephant. The pooja is very nice and the temple looks extrordinary with oil lamps.



We went to lodge and came back to the temple in the morning for darshan. We went to the temple at 5'o clock in the morning. Even that time also the temple is with large croud and there was a pooja going on for new poojari. So they were allowing pilgrims five mminutes in every 30 minutes for darshan. So it took so much of time for darshan. We came out of the temple at 9:00am.



We had tiffen and started to alappy.

My Parents in NITC

My parents were thinking about visiting our campus from many days. Finally, they came on 1st may.



My parents came to bangalore. I went to bangalore and we had a trip to mysore on the next day. The tour was very nice. We visited srirangapatnam, mysore maharaja palace, chamundeshwari temple, the big nandi and finally brindavan garden.



We started in mysore at night 12:00 clock. We reached our campus at 5:30 in the morning. I took a guest room in our hostel for my parents. Gurudatha's parents also came to campus. My parents met with guru's parents and we went to canteen to have tiffen. We had some photos with our parents in campus.



Gurudatha and his parents were going to guruvayoor. So they left to calicut after taking tiffen.



I showed all the places in my campus to my parents. They enjoyed our campus atmosphere. As the summer heat is less compared to karimnagar, they felt a bit relaxed.



I took my parents to my lab and our department. Unfortunately, it was a holiday, so no faculty were on the campus. My guide is also in vacations. My parents felt a bit disappointed with this.



We were in our hostel till after noon 2'o clock. They enjoyed our campus and hostel life.

Joining date confirmation

Today I got a mail to confirm my joining dates with philips. They gave 2 dates 19th june and 25th june.

I decided to join on 25th june.



They are providing 14 days initial accommodation. It may be in philips campus or near to that. It is good that we are getting some time to search for a new house.

Final Presentation of the project

Today, my final internal evaluation of m.tech project is completed. I prepared a power point presentation of 50 slides. I started the presentation in the evening 4pm. It took 1 hour 10 minutes to complete my presentation.



Dr. Vineeth paleri sir, Sajayasree madam and Mr. Sumesh sir in the examination panel.



Vineeth sir asked many questions starting from the data structure that i used. I answered many questions.



Presentation is completed very nicely without any hurdles. I am very happy today............

Exploring NITC Part-1

National Institute of Technology, Calicut. In gods own country Kerala.



Set in a picturesque landscape at the foothills of the Western Ghats, National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) is located about 22 kilometers north-east of Calicut City. National Institute of Technology Calicut is one of the premier national institutions for technical education in India.

Ministry of Human Resource Development accorded Deemed University Status to NIT Calicut in June 2002. NITC is administered by a society registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1960. Under the constitution of the society, a Board of Governors governs the Institute.



This is the place where i am completing my M.Tech. This is the place where I learn many things.

First rain in this summer

Weather is cheating us from many days. We were expecting a rain from many days. At last, today, it rained for the first time in this summer. It turned everything into cool from hot summer.



This year summer heat is increased. With this rain, weather became very pleasant.



Weather
is changed completely and everything turned into cool from the hot. Atmosphere is too good today with this rain.

It started at 4:00 pm in the evening and continued for one hour.



This rain turned everything into cool.

Project, Project, Project :)

Today, I submitted my project report to our course coordinator. Our project evaluations are scheduled on 16th, 17th and 18th april. This is the final internal project assessment. Our external evaluation will be after june.



My presentation is on 17th april at 11:00. I started preparing slides for the presentation. My guide is in IIT bombay for his Ph.D work. He will not be available for my evaluation.



After this presentation, we need to submit a thesis to our department. This completes our M.Tech academic work. Our last working day is 18th May 2007.

Age of Empires - II

We were playing AOE - II from many days. Today i played against 2 ppl and won the game.



We played 2 games, in the first game they defeated me. In the second game, after a battle of 2 hours, I won the game. Hurray!!!

CSEA Farewell

Computer Science and Engg Association(CSEA) has given a farewell party to complete CSE department.

Party scheduled at 5:00 pm in aryabhatta hall. All professors and lecturers came at 5'o clock. The hall got filled by 5:30, function started at 5:30.



All M.Tech CSE, MCA, B.Tech CSE were in the hall. I observed very less students from B.Tech 3rd year and MCA 2nd year.



Our director was the chief guest for the function. Director sir started the function with his speech. Then, our HOD sir gave a speech.



Surprisingly, our HOD announced Best Out going Student awards for the first time from department. Kranthi selected from M.Tech, chandra shekar from MCA and sridhal menon from B.Tech.







Next speech was mine. I wrote 3 papers content and started reading it without even lifting my head. Got so much tensed to read give that speech. I don't know, why it happened. Kranthi and John helped me a lot in preparing a good speech. After my speech some students shared their experience in this college.



They invited lecturers to deliver few words. My guide, Vinod pathari sir gave a wonderful speech. Sir explained about 10 rules that we study in kindergarten and mapped that to present life. It was awesome. Every one gave him a standing ovation after he completes his speech.







Some cultural programs were conducted as part of function. Very nice function with all CSE together.

Some students gave excellent feedback and some students gave -ve feedback. But everything went nice....

Farewell party

My juniors gave us farewell party in malabar gate, calicut on 1st april.






They arranged transportation from college to malabar gate. Party started at 5:00pm. John(my junior) gave welcome speech. It was excellent. We were mesmerized with his speech.






They planned everything very well. As part of that, 2 juniors tisha and sri krishna did anchoring.






They started calling us with our own specialties. We were surprised with that.

They started with gurudatha, a calm and silent person in our group.
Guru shared many experiences with us. Main points were plucking fruits from many trees and cricket in NITC.






Then, the most sleeping person, Mr. Nagaraju.
Nagaraju, is a sleeping lion and they made a mistake of waking him up. He also shared his enjoyment with us.

Then, the person who is always first in the class and a great inspiration to all. He is kranthi. Kranthi explained how to enjoy very well in the campus and many placement issues. His speech was really awesome.

Then, the person who always chat with friends, that is BPR








Then, the most hard working person in our class, Nagaraju.S
Nagaraju is really a hardworking person always. He reads a lot. Every time we see him with many books. We gave nick name as walking library. He also shared many reading issues with my juniors.

Then, the person who sings very well and always in a cool mood. He is Rafeeque.
He sings very well, we can see the kind of emotion in his face while he is singing a song. We really love his songs (though we do not understand malayalam). We got another chance to have his nice song.

Then, the person with very high voice, Madam sabitha (QIP student). She gave a small speech.

Then, the person whose marriage is in next month, he is Abdul gafur. He spoke for few minutes. Shared many of his views with us.

Then, the person who watches many movies. He is senthil. Senthil speech was very funny. Senthil started explaining how to download movies from various sites, the people who uploads good movies and some sites. I am planning to write a software that will automatically download a movie form various sites depeneding on availability, he added. His speech was too funny.

Then, the person who knows anchoring very well, she is kalavathi. She shared her experience in college with our faculty.

Then, last but not the least, one and only one. Thats me, Suman.
I know that many juniors know about me, Becoz, twice i went to their class and gave some warnings to keep the lab clean and to be responsible about the lab. So, they got a chance to screw me. I understood that and I took a chair, started talking some funny incidents in NITC.












I explained little about placements and the way they conduct tests and interviews etc. They asked me, how do u like to choose

ur partner? I explained them in my own way. " See 4 girls, select 3, try 2 and marry one". Every one clapped for that dialogues. But they do not know this is copied from a movie.

They asked me how can u have 4 members in ur heart. I told again some movie dialogues. Man heart is like a 7 seater auto in hyderabad, no matter how many ppl are there, there will be always a place for one more.
They clapped again for this.

My juniors told us to collect one gift for each from the table. As, I and BPR was expecting that there will be something wrong in that becoz, today is april 1st. As we expected, rafeeque got a tile saying that all the best and april fool. They gave another gift for rafeeque. That idea was too nice.






Then we moved into another hall. Juniors conducted some games. Eating competition for 3 ppl, candle lighting, balloon blasting etc.








After that they started another game with all of our classmates. We were formed a circle and they gave a ball kind of gift

and told us to pass it to next person. In the background they put a song. Game rule is who ever have the ball when the music

is stopped or who drops the ball, they were out of the game. I managed to maximum extent and eliminated all my friends

sitting next to me. Finally BPR and me were in the game. We were holding the ball in middle and not passing it to any one.

Juniors dragged us to other ends, and we enjoyed the game very well. Finally, I won the game.

Every one of my classmates were eager to see what the gift was. I opened it, its a coconut without water. ha ha ha, i became

fool by winning the game. But the idea is too good.


Then we had wonderful dinner. We really enjoyed the food very much. Generally we face problem with the taste in calicut for many occasions and parties. But this party food was prepared very nicely. We filled our stomach up to the neck.

Then there was a candle light event. In which all students holded 2 candles each and all the lights were off. They chose very appropriate bakcground song. It was too good.

Girls were having permission till 8:00pm. So they returned to hostel. After they left Malabar gate, we started our disco. It was for 2 hours. We enjoyed a lot while dancing with friends.






It was very nice party arranged by our juniors. I thank each and every person behind this program. Its a wonderful experience in my NITC life. Thanks a lot to my juniors.
